CertificationPMA Regulatory Compliance Self-Certification ProgramAvailable to PMA Members OnlyPMA’s Regulatory Compliance Self-Certification Program has been an ongoing project of the PMA, and remains an important part of PMA’s commitment to its member companies, the industry as a whole, and the world in which we live. The PMA Strategic Plan’s goal is to: "Enable all member companies to demonstrate compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and transportation regulations by means of self-certification programs within five years." Click here to read Don Gallo’s article about the four-tiered self-certification program. This Polytopics reprint will show how valuable this program can be for your company now and in the future. Not only does the self-certification process help your company from losing time and money to employee health issues and accidents, and lowering the risk for fines and legal liability, you are also promoting the safety of your workers, and protecting the environment. Companies that commit themselves to safety and health will lose less time and money to employee health issues and accidents, and will reduce the potential for fines and legal liability. The program has a tiered approach: Level I: CommitmentLevel I: Commitment is easy! There is no additional burden or recordkeeping necessary, this level of commitment is simply to state your commitment to meet the minimum existing regulations already in effect. There is no cost to commit to this level, all it takes is for you to fill out the enclosed form and send it back to the PMA office. Certification is valid for two years, and after that, the renewal process will become even easier. Download the Level I application now! Level II: Compliance

ISO-14001 registration or participation in EPA's Environmental Track Program, Project XL or an equivalent are each worth 20 points. Points may also be earned from additional environmental achievements. The additional 10 points necessary for Level III may be earned from the above options or from experience in Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
