Failed Parts

2019 Annual Meeting: We Need Your Failed Parts!

The Failed Parts competition continues to be a favorite session among members who attend the PMA Annual Meeting. This program will again run at the 2019 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada - but we cannot successfully present without your parts!

If your company has any failed parts, please send them to the PMA Office with the following information included:

•  Name of company
•  Type or name of part
•  Function or application of the part
•  Reason for failure
•  A correct or successful part to compare against (if applicable)
 


Parts related to the following areas are requested:

Processing: In-Use Failure:
  • Poor degassing
  • Bad mixing
  • Excessive shrink
  • Improper mold release application
  • Bond failure
  • Hydrolysis
  • Excessive abrasion
  • Flex fatigue

Send parts to the PMA Office by March 31, 2019

Please remember the following:
  • Parts may be no more than 10 lbs
  • Parts must be clean
  • Let us know if you would like your part returned
  • If your part is fragile, please package it with protection for shipping
  • We are able to remove company names from parts for privacy purposes
