Become a Member - Benefits of Membership
Networking
Networking is the #1 ranked membership benefit time and again. It is encouraged during the Annual Meeting and throughout the year with all members upholding the PMA Anti-trust Agreement.
Annual Meetings
Held every year in Spring, the Annual Meetings offer valuable educational content, as well as the opportunity to network with other members and industry representatives. Registration fees are greatly reduced for PMA members.
Processing Techniques Seminars (PTS)
These trainings are in-depth education courses on the basics and some advanced techniques in the industry. These are held every two years alternating with the Supplier Showcase. The great member benefit of these sessions, is that two members are allowed to attend for no charge. The next PTS session will be held in 2008.
Supplier Showcase
Held on alternating years with the PTS, the showcase allows suppliers to display their wares to members during a portion of the Annual Meeting. The next Supplier Showcase will be held in 2009.
FREE Publications
All technical papers, resource material, and past meeting proceedings are all available at no cost through the Members’ Only portion of the web site.
Self-Certification
PMA’s Regulatory Compliance Self-Certification Program offers a way for members to demonstrate compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and transportation regulations by means of self-certification programs. Not only does this self-certification process help companies keep from losing time and money due to employee health issues and accidents, it also lowers the risk for fines and legal liability, while promoting the worker safety and protecting the environment.
Listserve
This new benefit is a great source for new business leads. Periodically throughout the year individuals and companies contact the PMA office with requests for products, services and information. These leads are compiled and sent out regularly to PMA members.
Legal Counsel: Don Gallo
On behalf of its members, PMA contracts with Donald P. Gallo, shareholder in the Environmental Department of Reinhart Boerner Van Dueren, SC. Don concentrates his practice on environmental matters, and serves clients in a broad range of environmental issues, including cost recovery and contribution, administrative enforcement actions, permitting, insurance recovery, and transactional issues. As part of membership with PMA, companies are encouraged to contact Don Gallo directly with specific concerns or legal questions at no cost to individual members.
Health & Safety Expertise of Ted Hogan/Industrial Hygenist
Dr. Ted Hogan, Industrial Hygienist, has developed a Comprehensive Safety and Health Model Program for the Association, which includes a recent update of the Respiratory Protection Program. As a member benefit, Dr. Hogan provides informative programs at PMA's meetings, and is available to privately address individual questions between meetings (via telephone) for up to two hours per year, at no charge to PMA members.
Polytopics Newsletter
This quarterly publication has up-to-date industry notices, educational articles, association updates and other valuable and timely information including a personal member news section.
