PMA's Action & Advocacy FundThe PMA is excited to announce a new initiative focused on strengthening our industry through coordinated scientific research, regulatory engagement, and unified advocacy. As regulatory expectations continue to evolve and the need for defensible scientific data grows, our industry must proactively invest in the studies that support safe use, exposure assessment, environmental stewardship, and long-term product viability. The fund will be managed jointly by PMA's Government Affairs and Environmental Health & Safety Committees, ensuring that sound science and balanced regulation remain at the forefront of our efforts. Rather than waiting until a regulatory challenge arises, the PMA Action & Advocacy Fund is designed to help our industry prepare for what comes next. As chemicals important to cast polyurethane come under regulatory review or new gaps in existing scientific data are identified, the need for additional research and testing can arise quickly. By building resources proactively, PMA can be better prepared to support necessary studies, develop defensible scientific data, and respond effectively to emerging regulatory needs. This forward-looking approach helps strengthen the scientific foundation of our industry and supports the continued safe, responsible use and accessibility of the chemicals essential to cast polyurethane. How Will the Fund Be Used?Funds collected through this initiative will be used exclusively to support PMA's mission of "...promoting sustainability by advocating for the safe, responsible use and accessibility of the chemicals essential to our industry." To ensure fairness and encourage broad participation, the committee will implement a reasonable look-back contribution structure. This approach protects early contributors while keeping the program accessible to companies that join in the future. Your involvement will help build the scientific foundation necessary to support the continued safe and responsible use of cast polyurethane while strengthening our industry's ability to address future regulatory challenges.
